Yes, these games take forever, but that's the fun of it and the kids are thrilled to have you all to themselves. At our house, we play Bonkers, which is a game of mine from when I was young that my parents had saved. Also popular around here are Sorry and Trouble. For my littler ones, we enjoy Teddy Bear Bingo and Kipper, Where are My Toys? Sara, I had no idea that they made micro-games. Some of them do a good job of being fun for both children and adults at the same time. When I was a kid my whole family had a lot of fun with <a href="http://www.ravensburger.com/US/Amazing-Labyrinth__2430009-2430055-2858081.html" rel="nofollow">Labyrinth</a> and <a href="http://www.ravensburger.com/US/Rivers-Roads-Rails__2430009-2430056-2437313-2437314-2437321.html" rel="nofollow">Rivers, Roads, and Rails</a>. I also appreciate that these games tend to focus on more constructive themes, like exploration or urban development, rather than economic or military domination like Risk or Monopoly. You might want to check out “Eurogames“. Some of them do a good job of being fun for both children and adults at the same time. When I was a kid my whole family had a lot of fun with Labyrinth and Rivers, Roads, and Rails.
